Discover the Pearl of the Gargano and its most emblematic points of interest on this private tour of Vieste. You'll have an expert guide exclusively for you and your group!
At the time of your choice, we'll meet in Piazza Castello, where we'll start a private tour of Vieste. Ready to get to know the most iconic places of one of the most visited cities in Puglia?
In the company of an expert guide, you'll walk through the historic center of Vieste, a true medieval jewel in which labyrinthine streets alternate with breathtaking panoramic views. The contrast between the turquoise tones of the sea and the characteristic white houses overlooking the golden beaches will leave you speechless!
We'll visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, an 11th-century temple built in the highest part of the medieval town. In fact, it's the oldest example of Apulian-Romanesque architecture!
A few steps from the cathedral, we'll see the imposing Swabian Castle, a majestic fortification located on top of a promontory overlooking the sea. Today home to the Italian Navy, this fortress offers extraordinary views of the beach and the famous Pizzomunno, a limestone rock standing twenty-five meters high. Do you know the legend behind this monolith? We'll tell you all about it during the tour!
From this vantage point, we'll also observe the historic trabucchi of the Gargano, wooden structures jutting out into the sea, formerly used to catch fish without the need to venture off on dangerous boat expeditions. Protected by the Gargano National Park, today these rudimentary tools have been restored to safeguard the area's old fishing traditions.
After two hours discovering the most emblematic places in Vieste, the tour will conclude.
By booking a private tour, you'll be able to choose your preferred time and enjoy a much more personalized service. In addition, you'll have an exclusive guide just for you and your group.
