Discover one of the great treasures of Castilla-La Mancha on this day trip to Consuegra from Madrid. You'll also get to see its famous windmills!

Day Trip Details

Are you in Madrid and want to visit one of the most beautiful towns in Castilla-La Mancha? If so, at the indicated time we'll meet at 3, Paseo del Prado to begin this day trip to Consuegra, known for its famous windmills.

We'll travel by minibus to the town located in the province of Toledo. Throughout the drive, the guide will provide fascinating explanations about the area, translated into English with a pre-recorded audio. After a brief stop at Plaza de España Square in the town, where you can have breakfast at your own expense, we'll start a guided tour of the Cerro Calderico. On this hill, we'll see the infamous Consuegra windmills. Did you know that Don Quijote confused them for giants? During the tour, we'll discuss how these Manchegan landscapes inspired Miguel de Cervantes.

After exploring the hilltop, we'll go inside the Rucio Windmill, before continuing the tour in Consuegra at La Muela Castle. Here, we'll go on a guided tour of this medieval fortress. It was, in fact, a key stronghold during the Reconquest of Spain thanks to its exceptionally strategic location.

From the castle, we'll head back to the meeting point in Madrid, where we'll arrive after a total of 7 hours.

Day Trip Language

In some cases, an English-speaking guide will not be available. However, to ensure an optimal experience, the tour will always be accompanied by audio recordings in English. In addition, professional simultaneous translation devices will be used, allowing you to follow every explanation in real time and without interruptions, so that you can fully enjoy the tour in your own language.
