The unique and incomparable setting makes everything else seem small; what better review than to consider it normal within such a masterpiece?

Why Visit the Galleria dell'Accademia?

Founded in 1784, the Galleria dell'Accademia is one of the most prestigious museums in Florence, and in Italy. Its collection offers a fascinating route through the evolution of Renaissance art, from sculpture to painting. Walking along its corridors is synonymous with travelling back in time to the cradle of the Renaissance.

In the interior of this museum, Michelangelo's David stands tall as a symbol of artistic perfection. Its proportions, its expression and its incredible level of detail make viewing it in person a completely unique experience. With the audio guide in English, you'll discover the secrets of this masterpiece.

As well as David, you can admire the Prisoners, a group of unfinished sculptures that reveal Michelangelo's technique in the midst of his creative process. These figures seem to want to free themselves from the marble, showing the struggle between matter and form. You'll be surprised by their expressive power!

But that's not all! The Galleria dell'Accademia doesn't only have Renaissance sculptures. In its rooms, you'll also find works by great masters such as Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, Orcagna and Filippino Lippi, whose art will transport you to 15th-century Florence.

With your ticket, you can visit the section dedicated to period musical instruments. For example, you can admire a Stradivarius violin belonging to the collection of the Cherubini Conservatory, a real gem for music and history lovers.

Skip The Line Entry

By booking this ticket, you can make the most of your visit and avoid the long queues at the ticket office. However, you'll have to wait in line at the security checkpoint to enter the museum. At peak times, this queue usually lasts between 10 and 15 minutes.

Important Info

On the first Sunday of the month, the Galleria dell'Accademia has its normal opening hours, with free admission for everyone.
