Karim was very kind and showed us interesting places that we would hardly have found on our own in a day. Many are places of craftsmanship and sales. However, we were very disappointed with the agency to which we paid €98 for a private tour in the Medina, where the entrance fees to the places of interest were not included and we had to pay separately each time. The guide, who was older (over 60), was very knowledgeable and friendly. We used our own car to get around Fez. We had lunch with the guide (on loan) at a typical restaurant. The only downside was that, without informing us in advance, at the end of the tour, which lasted until 2:30 PM, the guide asked us for an additional fee. We had to negotiate this because it seemed excessive, considering we had also paid for lunch. Opinion translated. Show original.

The guide, though good, didn't show us all the sights listed on the tour. Unfortunately, we only realized this at the end.

The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, but forced (arranged) to visit shops during the tour. Half the time was wasted visiting shops. We finished the tour early, with a very dull and disappointing visit to Fez.

The tour isn't about Fez, just the Medina, and a free tour is perfectly adequate for that. On the other hand, they take you to countless shops hoping you'll buy something, where you could spend less time. The goal is to sell you things. You do visit some beautiful places, and the artisans are interesting. But the time spent in the shops is far too long.
