Transfer to Ilha Grande
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Arraial do Cabo and from there, we'll drive west along the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
After a drive of about 3.5 hours, we'll arrive in Rio de Janeiro, where we'll stop to change vehicles and pick up other passengers at Santos Dumont Airport or Galeão Airport.
Then, we'll leave Rio de Janeiro behind and continue our journey west towards Conceição de Jacareí. Upon arrival in this coastal town, we'll head to the pier at Porto Real Marina. There, we'll board a speedboat that will take us to the pier at Vila do Abraão, the capital of Ilha Grande.
The total duration of the transfer from Arraial do Cabo to Ilha Grande is 6 hours. Once you arrive on the island, you can explore all the attractions of this paradisiacal carioca destination at your own pace. The stunning sandy beaches of Praia do Demo and Praia de Lopes Mendes are crowd favorites!
Upon arrival, you'll see why, as these beaches are ideal for snorkeling. Alternatively, if you prefer staying on firmer ground, you can opt for a trekking route to Praia da Julia. And of course, you can't miss experiencing the local gastronomy of the island either!
